About the challenge
This Hackathon event builds on the ideas that were developed as part of the INSPIRE Ideathon. Each project has chosen features and ideas that stood out, and they want to see them come to life!
Participants will be divided into teams, with each team being assigned one of our three project categories. Each of these categories tackle unique and real needs in our local community from aiding non-profit organizations to helping teach indigenous languages!
Starting at 2:30 on October 3rd, teams will implement features relevant to each of these amazing projects until 10:30am on October 4th.
Here are this hackathon's tasks for each of the INSPIRE projects:
FundrAIse:
This event task is to build a meeting assistant platform that helps non-profits capture their meeting transcriptions, generate summaries, and extract fundraising action items. The goal is to ensure that important details, like following up with donors, scheduling events, or finding new grants, don’t get lost after a meeting. We’ve provided you with a starter repository and Nylas Notetaker access so your group can focus on integrating the transcription workflow, storing the data, and building a clear dashboard rather than worrying about setup.
Mathiné:
Your task is to build one of three potential AI-driven features: an Autograder to provide course-specific feedback on assignments, a Quiz Generator to automate quiz creation from existing materials, and an AI Scheduler to optimize exam study plans. Each feature leverages AI to reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, and provide tailored support for academic success. Teams will select one feature to prototype, with each focusing on unique but complementary challenges in education technology.
Bridging Roots:
This event task is to create a culturally inspired mini-game that helps children learn SENĆOŦEN words and explore the culture. We’ve provided a starter repository and a briefing document to let the groups in this category focus on the game logic and creativity rather than project configuration.
Requirements
Each team must create and submit a Devpost page detailing their miminum viable product by 10:30am on October 4th.
